James J. Morris, 84, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017.
James was born on August 24, 1932, in Olive Hill, KY, to James E. and Stella P. (Rose) Morris. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. James was an avid fisherman and hunter, and he loved to run his hunting dogs. He also enjoyed going to the park and feeding the ducks. He loved long drives and long walks, and anything else that had to do with the outdoors.
He is survived by six children, Art Morris of Mansfield, Gayle Morris of FL, Timothy Morris of Iberia, Carolyn (Darren) Volz of Cable, OH, Jamie Snyder of Lexington, and James (Michelle) Morris of Mansfield; eleven grandchildren, Miranda, Lidia, Clayton, Rebecca, Arielle, Hannah, James, Mathew, Cody and Dusty; nine great-grandchildren; five siblings, Shelton (Brenda) Morris of KY, Franklin Morris of Mansfield, Donald Morris of KY, Linda Herndon of Galion, and Sandra Wharton of Galion; and special friends, Sandra Goodhart, Faye Williams, and Fred Truman.
James was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Angela DeSalvo; and eight siblings, Cloteen Morgan, Darleen Haggard, Avenlle Duncan, Helen Cottral, Mary Bond, Ruby Carroll, Conroy Morris, and Virgie Morris.
The family will have private services at a later date. Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd, 1106 Park Ave. East, Mansfield, is handling the arrangements.
