Linda Apking, 72, peacefully passed away Monday, May 29, 2017 in Lexington Court Care Center following an extended illness.
Her family will miss her dearly but take comfort in the peace she now has from a 12 year struggle with Alzheimer’s disease.
She was born Sept. 24, 1944 to parents Charles and Elizabeth (Marietta) Preston in Dayton. On Feb. 6, 1971, she married Ted Apking and she was a wonderful wife and Mom to her family.
Linda worked at Mansfield Typewriter where she was employed for more than 25 years until retiring in 2006.
In spare time, she took pleasure in boating with her husband. She was a well-liked and smart lady with a generous spirit and especially loved shopping for her grandkids.
She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Ted Apking of Lexington; children (and spouses) Dr. Ted Apking, of Algonac, Michigan, Sandy and Dan Wishwick, of Cummings, Georgia, Mike and Tara Apking, of Bellville, and Nikki Adkins, of Mansfield; along with eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service honoring her life will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2017 in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home with family friend Pastor Tim Campbell officiating.
Contributions in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association may be made at her service.
