Charles Ray “Chuckie” McCoy, 64, passed this life on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 in OSU Medical Center after a brief illness.
Mr. McCoy was born on Sunday, July 27, 1952 to the late Leon McCoy and Gladys Louise (Hamner) McCoy-Smith in Mansfield and was a life resident. Chuckie, as he was affectionately called, graduated from Mansfield Senior High School, Class of 1970, and was a member of the Mt. Hermon Baptist Church where he sang in the Senior Choir.
Chuckie is survived by two sons: Charles “Chico” (Sherri) Feagin, Columbus, and Michael McCoy, Mansfield; brother: Melvin L. (Angelith) McCoy, Mansfield; five grandchildren: Jacari Davison, Jacob and Sonia Feagin, Tameka Adderton, and Kiera Wills; step-mother: Mary McCoy, and special friend: Terry Van Houten, of Mansfield.
In addition to his parents Chuckie was also preceded in death by his step-father Allen Smith, and maternal grandparents Henry and Nettie Hamner.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, at 11 a.m. in the Mt. Hermon Baptist Church with his pastor Rev. Clinton N. Hearns officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the funeral service beginning at 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be in Mansfield Cemetery.
