MANSFIELD – A 38-year-old Mansfield man was arrested Tuesday afternoon on drug charges after METRICH served a search warrant at 119 Boughton Ave.
Vanness D. Oliver was charged with trafficking in drugs, possession of heroin, possession of cocaine and receiving stolen property. He was taken to the Richland County Jail and is being held pending his appearance in court. Additional charges may be forwarded to the Richland County Prosecutor’s Office.
METRICH, with assistance from the Mansfield Division of Police and the Allied Special Operations Response Team, served the warrant as the result of a drug investigation in reference to complaints of drug trafficking.
During the search, detectives seized approximately 30 grams of suspected heroin/fentanyl, 19 grams of suspected crack cocaine, Suboxone strips, prescription medications, a handgun, $3,400 in cash and an assortment of suspected stolen merchandise.
METRICH Commander Lt. Joseph D. Petrycki stated the METRICH Enforcement Unit will continue to target those individuals that sell drugs, especially fentanyl, in Richland County.
