Ervin Dean “Erv” Fackler went to be with the Lord on Sunday evening, April 16, 2017 in his home surrounded by his family. He was 80.
He was born Jan. 8, 1937 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, to parents Henry and Mary (Headley) Fackler. After he was graduated from Shiloh High School with the class of 1955, he proudly served his country by joining the Air National Guard.
Erv started as a Pepsi delivery driver getting to know many people in the area while doing so. Most of his working life he spent as a business owner. The last 30 years he owned Fackler Construction.
He was a member of Amvets Post #26 and the Mansfield Liederkranz. In spare time, he took pleasure in metal detecting and fishing, his biggest catch being a Sailfish he caught in Florida.
He is survived by his loving wife Linda Fackler, of Mansfield; children Curtis Fackler, of Spokane, Washington, Mark Fackler, of Citrus Heights, California, Collien Rothig, of Vermillion, Mike Kiley, of Mansfield, and Shawn Kiley, of Mansfield; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Erv was preceded in death by a daughter, C.J. Whitely.
The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life at the Amvets Post #26 on Saturday, April 22, 2017.
