Sandy L. McCracken, 79, of Mansfield passed away Friday, March 31, 2017 at Kingston of Ashland.

Born on Feb. 16, 1938, Sandy is the daughter of the late Richard and Evelyn Marie (Hipp) Mosher.

Sandy a very caring, compassionate, and giving woman. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed being surrounded by her family. She was her grandchildren’s favorite babysitter. She took great pride in her grandchildren and attending their sporting events.

Sandy enjoyed spending time on Charles Mill Lake relaxing on her pontoon boat. In addition to boating, Sandy liked bowling, baking cookies with her children and grandchildren, making afghans, working puzzles, and taking care of her yard and her gardens.

Sandy held various part time jobs throughout her life but her ultimate joy was caring for her home and her children. She was a collector of many items such as owls, Emmett Kelly clowns, and hand bells with birds. She made many friends during the years she spent wintering in Florida.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 59 years, Sam McCracken; her children, Terri (Tom) Donley and Greg McCracken; three grandchildren, Tyler Donley, Taylor (Chad) Riffel and Matt McCracken; three great-grandchildren, Audrianna, Wyatt and Zayne; and two sisters, Shirley Dupre and Janet Shoup.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Mosher; and a sister, Louise Hay.

At this time there will be no services. Memorial contributions can be made to Southern Care Hospice, 775 Lexington Ave. Mansfield, Ohio 44907. The Wappner Cremation Center is pleased to serve the McCracken family.
