Evelyn S. (Tackett) Beach, 92, of Galion passed away Monday, April 3, 2017 at Mill Creek Nursing Center in Galion.
Born March 19, 1925 in High Splint, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Albert and Effie (Ramey) Smith.
Evelyn was a waitress at the former Tom Boy/ McNews restaurant, L & K restaurant and the K Mart Deli in Mansfield. She was a workaholic working until she was 76. Evelyn loved to travel, liked her beer with ice and was a very feisty and independent woman. She especially loved her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by children Michael (Donna) Tackett, of San Antonio, Texas, Marie McCalla, of Galion, Jackie (Buddy) Schubert, of Galion, Patty Seevers, of Galion, and Terry Tackett, of Galion; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husbands Floyd Tackett and Clarence “Bud” Beach; son Floyd Tackett Jr. and sister Pauline Trent.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio, 44833. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 7, 2017 at Crawford County Memory Gardens in Crestline with Pastor Joe Stafford officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mill Creek Activities Fund in care of the funeral home.
