MANSFIELD — The Renaissance Education Department is currently accepting submissions for its 6th annual MindSprouts Creative Writing program for students in kindergarten through 12th grade.

The theme for this year’s contest is “Blast from the Past!”

Students may submit one composition in one or more of the following categories: short story, play, or poem.

Top submissions from each grade band in the MindSprouts contest are sent to a celebrity panel for judging, then adapted for the stage and showcased at the Renaissance on May 18. A guide to help facilitate the writing process is available in the Education portion at mansfieldtickets.com.

All submissions to the MindSprouts contest must correspond to the theme: “Blast from the Past!”

Interested students may submit individually, or students may submit one collaborative work from a group of up to three students. The deadline for submissions to the contest has been extended, but all submissions must be received by the Renaissance no later than 5 p.m. on April 11 to be eligible for inclusion in the contest.

Submissions will be accepted via mail and email.

Submissions should be mailed to: Chelsie Thompson, Renaissance Education, 138 Park Avenue West, Mansfield, OH 44902. Email submissions can be sent to chelsie@mansfieldtickets.com.
