MANSFIELD — The Mansfield Police Department is investigating a Wednesday night shooting that sent a man to the hospital.
According to Mansfield Police Capt. Shari Robertson, a 911 call was placed at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday after the victim stumbled into MVP’s Bar and Grill, 295 Park Avenue West, asking for help after sustaining multiple gunshots
Mansfield Fire Department treated the 21-year-old man before he was taken to OhioHealth Hospital Mansfield. His condition is unknown.
Robertson said initially MPD received reports the victim was shot during a drive-by shooting, but they have received conflicting reports during their investigation, which is still ongoing.
“He was shot somewhere in that area,” she said.
Robertson said MPD is still looking for witnesses to the shooting.
