Sandi Q. Eckert

Sandi Q. Eckert, 61, of Iberia, died Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Select Specialty Hospital, Columbus, from complications after suffering a stroke during emergency surgery.

Sandi was born in Bucyrus, on March 28, 1955 to the late John H. Quinlan and Lois M. (Hodge) Lambert.

She was employed by Frontier Communications, retiring in December 2015 and was a member of the Iberia Methodist Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, always making time to visit and attend their activities. She thoroughly enjoyed gardening and would spend hours planting flowers and pulling weeds.

Sandi also loved to sew, especially making special outfits for her grandchildren. She had a passion for music and in her younger years, loved riding and showing horses. Sandi was a graduate of Mt. Vernon Nazarene College.

Sandi is survived by her daughter; Jennifer (David) Schroeder, of Ostrander, her son; Joseph Eckert, of Cardington, four grandchildren; Andrew Schroeder, William Schroeder, Lauren Schroeder and Alex Schroeder, and her brothers and sisters; Pam (Keith) Kunze, of Daytona Beach, Florida, John (Luly) Quinlan, of Columbus, Joy (Dave) Bowman, of Bucyrus, and Gary Quinlan, of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

She was also preceded in death by her infant daughter; Bambi Dawn and her sister; Kathy Hannah. 

Friends may call Thursday, March 30, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way N., Galion. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 31 at the funeral home with Pastors Karen and Donald Upson officiating. Burial will be in Iberia Cemetery at a later date.
