Ruth E. Schelk, 98, of Crestline, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Magnolia Terrace, Galion, after failing health for the last couple of years.
Ruth was born in Crestline, on Aug. 29, 1918 to the late John and Edna (Bauer) Fisher. She married Kenneth Schelk on March 15, 1963 and he survives her.
Ruth lived in Crestline her entire life and was a former member of the First English Lutheran Church and a current member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Crestline. She was a secretary for Dr. Sawyer and Dr. Chan for several years. Ruth attended Leesville High School. In her younger years Ruth was an accomplished pianist.
Ruth is survived by a son, Bud and Pat Snyder, of Crestline; her grandchildren, Marcia Williams, Steve and Renata Snyder, and Krista Houston, all of Westerville and Ric and Lori Snyder, of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 223 West Main Street, Crestline. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 23 at Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, Crestline, with Pastor Diana Seaman officiating. Burial will be in Dapper Cemetery at a later date.
