OLIVESBURG — The Crestview FFA chapter held its annual eighth grade recruitment day in the chapter’s classroom, workshop, and SAE barn on Feb. 10.
Four large groups of Crestview eighth graders came over to the high school throughout the day and were exposed to the chapter’s facilities. Several members ranging from freshman to seniors were in charge of manning stations and explaining different aspects of FFA.
The students were met in the chapter classroom with a picture slideshow that highlighted events throughout the year. Then in the chapters shop students talked about their freshman year wood stool project, small engine repair skills, and welding.
Finally, the eighth graders got to take a tour of the animal science barn where 10 Holstein feeder calves are being raised for Richland County Fair projects.
