Irene Helen Frey, 94, of Bellville, passed away Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017 in her home surrounded by her family.
She was born July 11, 1922 to Joseph and Antoinette Travers in Bristol, Rhode Island, and graduated from Bristol High School.
On May 19, 1942, she married Robert A. Frey and they shared 45 years of marriage.
Irene worked at Mohican Manufacturing for 13 years. Her main focus however was that of wife and mother. A fantastic homemaker, she devoted her time and energy toward her husband and two sons. Very independent, even into her late 80’s Irene would maintain her house and lawn. She will be remembered as a loving and compassionate mother.
She is survived by sons William Frey, of Lexington, and Steven (Teresa) Frey, of Ashland; sister Hilda Mindyas, of Texas.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert, brothers James and Lou Travers, and sisters Julie Travssos, Mary Lamarca, and Rose Marshall.
The Frey family will receive friends Monday, Feb. 20, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home. A graveside service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Bellville Cemetery.
