MANSFIELD — Tickets will be available Monday, Feb. 20, 2017 for Richland Academy Dance Ensemble’s Spring Dance Concert.

This year’s performance will be Friday, March 17, and Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 7 pm at Founder’s Auditorium OSU-Mansfield. Ticket prices are $15 for adults and $10 for students, seniors, and veterans. Tickets can be purchased by visiting richlandacademy.com, the Richland Academy Facebook page, or by calling 419-522-8224.

The Richland Academy Dance Ensemble, aka rade, is a pre-professional training company. It is divided into four groups based on age and skill: rade, rade jr., radKidz, and radKidz2. This year’s performance will feature our four companies performing pieces in Classical Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Modern, a student choreography piece, and a very emotional farewell solo for each of our five graduating seniors.

Lauren Beard and Willa Marks are graduating from Ontario High School, Jillian Cordial and Star Henthorn are graduating from Lexington High School and Schuyler Kunkel is a homeschool student taking classes at Ashland University.

The show will feature Vivaldi’s Concerto in D minor part 1, which has opened the show for the last seven years. You will also see excerpts from some classical ballets La Esmeralda, Le Corsaire, Sleeping Beauty & Swan Lake. Matthew Roberts, our newest dance instructor and NEO’s Dancer, will show his choreographic style in jazz and tap numbers.

Sarah Horrigan-Ramos is bringing back Footloose and shaking things up with “Shook” from the Broadway Musical All Shook Up. The senior level dancers will amaze you with their performance of Marden Ramos’ most well-known choreography, Women Behind the Window.

Marden’s neo-classical choreography pushes his dancers to perform at their highest ability. Whether a group piece, duet or solo; his choreography, which often reflects so much of his personal story, will send the audience on an emotional journey through music and movement.

Come support the wonderful talent right here in Mansfield. This will be a true celebration of dance that you and your family won’t want to miss!
