MANSFIELD — Filing is mandatory for all residents (regardless of income level) who are 18 years of age or older and have not registered with the Mansfield Income Tax department as retired.

New for 2016 Mansfield City returns 

1. A copy of the federal tax return  1040, 1040A or 1040EZ must be attached to the Mansfield city return.

2. Joint filing is permitted. Both spouses must sign the return or a power of attorney must be attached if there is only one signature.

The deadline to file 2016 Mansfield tax returns is Tuesday April 18th, 2017.

Residents are encouraged to consider online filing or e-file for individual returns.

E-filing and all required forms for filing including Individual, Business and Estimated Payments are available on the website at: www.ci.mansfield.oh.us (Click the E-File/Forms Tab on the left side of screen)

To use the E-File System you must have filed your 2015 Mansfield return or registered with the City before April 1, 2017 by contacting the Tax Office or using the Registration Form found on the website. Remember if you have an address different than the one used when filing your 2015 return, you MUST update your information BEFORE using E-File. Contact the tax office or use the registration form to update your records. 

Tax Forms and filing assistance is also available at the Income Tax Division Office located in the Finance Department on the seventh floor of the Mansfield Municipal Building, 30 North Diamond Street or by calling 419-755-9711. Forms can also be found on the 1st Floor by the Income Tax Drop Box and the 2nd floor (Municipal Court security entrance)of the Municipal building and the Utilities Collections Building.

The Finance Department’s Income Tax Division will have staff available to assist you in completing your municipal income tax return Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. You may also call us for assistance at: 419-755-9711.

In an effort to better serve you our office will have extended hours until 6:00 p.m. on weekdays from Tuesday April 11 through Tuesday April 18, 2017.
