Charles “Tuffy” L. Miller went to be with the Lord Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 14, 2017.
He was born Oct. 24, 1936 in Danville, Ohio to parents Phillip and Malee (Roseborough) Miller. Charles graduated from Danville High School with the class of 1954. He went on to work for Pepsi Cola and retired after 40 years there as the Business Development Director in 2001.
Charles was very active in and loved the Danville community. He was President of the Town Counsel for one year, a part of the Danville Park Committee, and active in the Danville Athletics and Band Boosters. Charles was also a devote Catholic. He was a member St. Luke’s Parish in Danville for many years, where he served on the Parish Senate. He was also an active member of Resurrection Parish in Lexington, Ohio for several years.
In his spare time, he took pleasure in being outdoors. Deer hunting, golfing, maintaining his garden, and his pristine lawn were among his favorite hobbies. His love of the Lord was undeniable. Above all, Charles cherished his wife Helen of 61 years, his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife Helen F. Miller; children Julia (Doug) Hamm, Tony Miller, and Rosanne Garcia; grandchildren Benjamin (Kristi Rose) Miller, Anthony (Kimberly) Miller, Brian (Crystal) Hamm, Chris (Hope) Miller, Adam (Julie) Miller, Jared Hamm, Brooke (Martin) Breitinger, and Cory Garcia; 15 great grandchildren; siblings Joyce (Robert) Morris and Kenneth (Joanne) Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his son Jan Charles Miller; great grandson Brayden Zachary Miller; siblings Harold Miller, Robert Miller, Evelyn Guedras; and Norma Body.
The Miller family will receive friends Monday, Feb. 20, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Snyder Funeral Home, 2553 Lexington Avenue, Mansfield where a Vigil Prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Resurrection Parish, 2600 Lexington Avenue, Lexington, OH with Father Nelson Beaver officiating. Burial will follow at Mansfield Memorial Park.
