Robert “Bob” Kasper, 91, of Mansfield died peacefully Feb. 8, 2017 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital.

Robert was born on September 7, 1925 in Mansfield to the late Martin and Anna Holda Kasper. He was a 1943 graduate of St. Peter’s High School. Robert was a World War II veteran having served in military service with the United States Army. He was employed for 36 years at Mansfield Tire and Rubber and served for 12 years in Mansfield Municipal Court with the assignment of Deputy Clerk of Courts.

Robert was very active at St. Peter’s Church including Feed the Needy, acting as an altar server, lector, and extraordinary minister of Holy Communion, as well as helping to found the St. Peter’s bingo program many years ago. He visited people in nursing homes and cared for sick people and the handicapped. He was always there when needed.

Survivors include his sister Florence Schacherer of Mansfield and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Joe, George and Richard Kasper; sisters Mary Kasper, Ellen Dinger, Ann (Howie) Vanover, Catherine Gaubatz, Agnes Loeckel and Clara Luich.

Friends may call at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 54 S. Mulberry Street, Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1 p.m. followed by military honors being presented by Richland County Joint Veteran’s Detail. Burial will follow at Mansfield Catholic Cemetery.
