C. L. “Toots” Thompson passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at home. He was born October 24, 1935 to James and Alice Thompson in Mansfield, Ohio. He was a graduate of Mansfield Senior High, class of 1955.

He was a patriotic man who served his country in the United States Army as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. He was a man of humor and kindness.

He is survived by his wife, Toni, whom he married on February 24, 1962; two daughters whom he loved with all his heart, Cathy Jo Walters (Mark Mathews) of Mansfield and Lori Lynn (Jerry Rush) of Beavercreek, Ohio; his grandchildren, Anthony (Libby) Collins of Ashland, Kayla (Brad) Woods of Beavercreek, Ohio, Allison Walters of Mansfield and Jared Rush of Beavercreek, Ohio; and his precious great grandchildren, Coy and Cam Collins of Ashland, Ohio and Ben Woods of Beavercreek, Ohio. He also leaves behind many friends including his friends from Turtle Creek; numerous special nieces, nephews and cousins; and his sisters-in-law, Eve McCarrick, Fran Bender, Jo Touby and Tresa (Jack) Wehinger of Racine, Wisconsin.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bob and Jim Thompson.

Per his wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.
