Naomi Ransom, 86, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017 at Mill Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation in Galion.
Naomi was formerly of Shelby but lived the majority of her life in Crawford County.
Naomi was born Feb. 19, 1930 in Sandusky Township, Crawford County, the daughter of the late Charles E. and Fern C. (Bilsing) Magers. She was a cook and waitress her entire life having worked in various places throughout Crawford County. She retired in 1990.
Naomi was a member of First Lutheran Church in Shelby and enjoyed playing bingo and euchre.
Namoi is survived by a son: Leslie E. (Laurie) Kanis, of Mansfield; two daughters: Sharon L. (Jerry “Bones”) Kessler, of Shelby, and Roberta L. (Richard) Brand, of Arizona; four granddaughters: Melissa (Jason) Snow, Caroline (Shane) White, Codi (Derrick) Martin, Courtney Kessler; five great grandchildren: Mercedes, Carter, Tristan, Hayden, Calli Rose; a brother: James W. (Jan) Magers, of Shelby; and a sister: Evelyn Weible, of Indiana.
In addition to her parents, Naomi was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Amy Kanis; a brother: Charles Magers; and three sisters: Ruth Mack, Esther Cahill, and Eleanor Hench.
Family and friends are welcome on Monday, Jan. 30, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 W. Main St., Shelby, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Pastor Rus Yoak will officiate and burial will follow in Sandusky Township Cemetery.
