P. Eldon Bauer, 75, of Crestline, died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017 at Heartland of Bucyrus.
Eldon was born in Crestline on Aug. 18, 1941 to the late Paul and Doris (Minich) Bauer. He married Barbara “Bobbi” Hadsell on Sept. 13, 1997 and she survives him.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Shelby. Eldon graduated in 1959 from Crestline High School and he attended their monthly class luncheons. In 1964, he graduated from Ohio Northern University. Eldon retired as a Civil Engineer after 45 years of service and was also a farmer. An Ohio State fan, Eldon also enjoyed square dancing, coin collecting and traveling.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Deborah K. Morgeson, Michigan, Charisse L. (Rob) Klug, North Carolina, Doreen Elizabeth (Donte) Sharpe, Virginia, and Paul Eldon Bauer II, Virginia; his stepsons, Sandy L. (Cheryl) Hadsell, Wooster, and Robert E. (Darla) Hadsell, Crestline; his nine grandchildren; his six great-grandchildren; his brother, Richard Bauer; and his brother-in-law, Russell DeVore.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Elizabeth Marie Bauer, and his sister, Ruth DeVore.
Friends may call Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 223 W. Main St., Crestline. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 27, 2017 at Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, Crestline, with Pastor Walt Keib officiating.
Burial will follow in Crawford County Memory Gardens, Crestline.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Shelby or the Jefferson Township Fire Department in care of the funeral home.
