OLIVESBURG — Every year, members of the Crestview FFA participate in the chapter’s annual fruit sale fundraiser.
For three weeks, members of the community are given the opportunity to purchase several varieties of citrus fruit, apples, and barbecue sauce. Chapter sales expand all throughout Ashland as well as surrounding counties.
The week of Dec. 12, students along with chapter advisor Mr. Albright organized and sorted through each box of fruit to ensure customers got the best quality possible. Afterward, students were responsible for picking up and distributing their fruit.
The annual fruit sale, as well as the chapter’s chicken barbecue, gives members the opportunity to earn themselves a spot on the group’s eight-day trip to the National Western Stock Show in Denver, Colorado, that takes place in January.
