BELLVILLE — The Richland County Sheriff’s Office is searching for the owners of an urn that was found in a creek in Bellville.

According to a press release, David Pike, 46, happened upon the urn when he went down to a creek on Alexander Road to wash his hands.

“(Pike) advised while washing his hands off in the water, he looked to the left and found the listed item sitting in the water up under the bridge on Rule Road,” read the RSCO report.

The urn appears to belong to Casey Shaun, who was born June 1986 and died April 1998.

“We have checked with our local coroner’s office, health department and names in the community ending in the same last name with no luck,” said Major Joe Masi of RCSO.

A report was filed with RCSO on Friday, Nov. 4.
