Mike Meeker age 67 died Saturday, November 19, 2016 in Ohio Health Mansfield.
Born July 26, 1949 in Shelby to Earl and Thelma (Zehner) Meeker Jr. He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp and had served in Vietnam. Mike had received purple hearts and was nominated for the medal of honor.
Mike was a member of the Amvets Post #26 in Mansfield. He enjoyed golfing, playing poker, fishing and most of all he loved to spoil his grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Ashlee and Daniel Catlett of Mansfield; two grandchildren Lucas and Natalee Catlett; five siblings Linda (Bob) Steele of Mansfield, Wesley Meeker of TN, Bruce Meeker of GA, Randy (Audra) Meeker of GA, Dawn (Del) Look of CO; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Sandra Meeker in 1999.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby. Reverend Travis Mckenzie, his nephew, will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday, November 28 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Barkdull Funeral Home, to help offset the cost of funeral expenses.
