ASHLAND – The 21st-ranked Ashland Eagles scored early, easily and often in a 56-0 blowout of Walsh University on Saturday during Senior Day.

The Eagles piled up 529 yards of offense and allowed just 86 yards to the Cavaliers. The total set a defensive record at Jack Miller Stadium.

Adam Shaheen snagged a pair of short touchdown catches to tie the NCAA Division II season record for a tight end. Travis Tarnowski went 11-of-15 passing for 117 yards.

Running back Vance Settlemire collected three touchdowns and 126 yards. Andrew Vaughn ran for an identical 126 yards but no scores before head coach Lee Owens unloaded his depth chart to finish the game.

The Eagles move to 8-2 on the year. AU returns to action next Saturday at Ohio Dominican for a noon kickoff.
