OLIVESBURG — Crestview FFA members participated in the county soils CDE competition on Tuesday, Sept. 13.
The chapter’s rural soils judging team consisted of Brynn Witmer, who placed sixth, Kathy Lehman was eighth, followed by Ervin Fussner (12th), Erin Bernhard (14th), Cailyn Rogers (19th), LaCrisha Sauder (22nd), Savanah Stuart (24th), and Breanna Swank (30th).
For the urban soil judging team, Sarah Stuart finished 10th, followed by Kaitlyn Hunt (11th), Alexa Finley (17th), Kenzie (19th), Mason Maust (21st), Shane Casper (28th), Dawson LaFever (29th), and Justin Bond (32nd).
At the county level, the rural soils team judged to fourth place and the urban soils team was awarded second. Both teams qualified for district competition where the urban team placed eighth and the rural team moved on to state competition by placed fifth.
On Oct. 8 Bernhard, Witmer, Stuart, and Fussner moved on to rural soils state competition where they placed 24th overall.
