COLUMBUS — Two Richland County residents and an Ashland County resident were inducted into the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame Class of 2016 on Tuesday.
Francis J. Russo, who served in the Air Force, was posthumously inducted. Frank lived in Richland County and was heavily involved in local veterans affairs.
Larry D. Moore served in the Navy and lives in Richland County. Joseph J. Rygielski lives in Ashland County and served in the Air Force.
All three men will be honored during the induction ceremony on Thursday, Nov. 3 at 11 a.m. in Columbus’s Lincoln Theater at 769 E. Long St.
According to the Ohio Department of Veterans Services, 2016’s class will have 19 new inductees from Ohio. The newest members will join 498 Ohio veterans who have been inducted since the Hall’s creation in 1992 by former Governor George V. Voinovich.
The Hall was established to recognize Ohio veterans who continued service in their respective communities beyond their time in the military.
