OLIVESBURG — The Crestview FFA chapter raised $7,000 at Friday’s annual chicken barbecue fundraiser.
Community members from all around gathered in the high school commons to enjoy the meal prepared and served by chapter students and alumni members. Individuals from every grade level worked together during the week to arrange for the Friday evening meal. They were responsible for cleaning equipment, baking and wrapping brownies and potatoes, and also grilling the chicken throughout the school day.
The fundraiser enables the chapter to participate in many activities throughout the school year. Also, the event is always a great way to acclimate new members into the FFA as well as give back to their supportive community.
