MANSFIELD — O’Charley’s restuarant has announced a partnership with the Folded Flag Foundation and has committed to raising $75,000 to the organization by donating $0.25 for every 22-ounce beer sold in restaurants through Veterans Day weekend.
Additionally, O’Charley’s will provide guests with an opportunity to donate separately on their check.
According to the restaurant, 100 percent of donations will go toward honoring the fallen members of the U.S. military by providing educational grants and scholarships to their family members.
In the past 25 years, more than 7,000 men and women have died while deployed in the combat zone, leaving behind thousands of spouses who struggle to support themselves and their children’s education. While government assistance programs exist, they do not provide enough to cover education costs for the soldiers’ children.
That concern triggered the interest for this program, which began in Ontario on Tuesday, Sept. 13.
