MANSFIELD — The Mansfield Symphony Orchestra will present its annual free education concerts on Oct. 13 and 14 as part of the MSO’s Operation Bridge Building program.

The performances feature a theme of Acceptance and Diversity through Music and Story, and are open to all students in grades kindergarten through eighth grade.

The concerts will be led by guest conductor Dr. Laura Schumann, who developed the concert script in collaboration with the National Endowment for the Arts. Participating schools receive accompanying materials in the weeks prior to the concert to help them prepare students to attend, and schools are also invited to schedule free in-school concerts with Mansfield Symphony chamber groups, including a woodwind trio, brass trio, and string quartet.

To participate in either the symphony concerts at the Renaissance or the in-school concerts, contact the Renaissance Education Department at 419-522-2726, ext.251 or email chelsie@mansfieldtickets.com.

The Operation Bridge Building program brings music to over 7,000 students annually across the region, and is a valuable opportunity for students to experience a live orchestra accompanied with an engaging script and visual aids. All performance opportunities are free through the generosity of a donor-advised fund of the Richland County Foundation, with additional funding provided by Mechanics Bank.
