Terry L. Ray

Terry L. Ray, 64, of Mansfield, Ohio passed away on Sept. 4, 2016.

He was born to Roby and Molly (Hess) Ray on December 3, 1951 in Richlands, Virginia.

Terry was always happy, loving, generous, and loved to laugh, you rarely saw him without a smile on his face. He was outdoorsy, and enjoyed fishing, camping, cookouts, boating, and grilling. He especially loved having his friends and family over for his amazing Fourth of July fireworks. Terry was a great cook, and the handyman of the neighborhood. Most of all, he loved being with his family.

Terry is survived by his daughters, Terra Ray, of Phoenix, Arizona, and Kim Griffith (Joe Belcher), of Mansfield; goddaughter, Mindi (Fred) Reiter, of Mansfield; grandchildren, Kayla Ray and Cheyenne Ray; god grandchildren, Kyleigh Reiter and Raygen Reiter; great-granddaughter, BreAnna Ray; great-grandson Ethin Holstein, who looked just like him; his significant other, Carolyn Olar, of Mansfield; one brother, Dallas Ray, of Mansfield; four brothers-in-law, Ron Montgomery, Rick (Sandy) Montgomery, Pete (Yvonne) Montgomery, and Darrell Montgomery; four sisters-in-law, Freda Ray, Janice Ray, Barb Ray, and Cindy Montgomery; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Terry is preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Deborah Ray; three brothers Don, Curt, and Herman Ray; three sisters, Evelyn, Betty, and Bonnie; sister-in-law, Brenda Ray; and brother-in-law, Gary “Buddy” Montgomery.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Road. Funeral services will be Friday, Sept. 9, 2016 at 10 a.m. also at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, officiated by Rev. Kevin Evans. Burial will follow at Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
