GALION — The Ohio Department of Transportation has issued this week’s road work schedule.

As a result, drivers in Crawford County are urged to use caution or plan alternate routes when navigating these local roads:

Ohio 39

Ohio 39, from Ohio 598 to the Village of Tiro, will be reduced to one lane of traffic as part of a chip seal project. One lane of traffic will be maintained with flaggers. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be complete in October 2016

Ohio 61 & 294

Ohio 61, from the Marion County line to the corporation limit of Galion, and Ohio 294, from the Wyandot County line to Ohio 98, is reduced to one lane of traffic for resurfacing. One lane of traffic will be maintained with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete in August 2016.

Ohio 181

Ohio 181, between Scott Street and East Bucyrus Street in the Village of Crestline, is closed for emergency railroad crossing repairs. The detour route for eastbound motorists is Ohio 181 to Ohio 61, south on Ohio 61 to Ohio 309, east on Ohio 309 to Ohio 181, and reverse for westbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen Aug. 28, 2016.

Ohio 294

Ohio 294, just east of Monnett Road, will close Monday, August 29 for a culvert replacement. The detour route for eastbound motorists is Ohio 294 to SR 4, south on Ohio 4 to US 23, south on US 23 to Ohio 309, east on Ohio 309 to Ohio 98, northeast on Ohio 98 to Ohio 294, and reverse for westbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen Sept. 28, 2016.

Ohio 598

Ohio 598, from Old Lincoln Highway to Ohio 39, will be reduced to one lane of traffic as part of a chip seal project. One lane of traffic will be maintained with flaggers. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be complete in October 2016.
