ONTARIO — Law enforcement representatives from throughout Richland County will converge on O’Charley’s Restaurant in Ontario for an Appreciation Night event from 4 to 9 p.m.
In attendance for the event will be the Richland County Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Richland County Sheriff’s Department, Police Departments from Butler, Bellville, Lexington, Mansfield City, Shelby and Ontario, Park Rangers from Charles Mill and Pleasant Hill and the Richland County Game Warden and a K-9 unit.
Richland County Proscutor Bambi Couch Page will also be on hand, with a display. Over a dozen vehicles will be on display and includes a SWAT unit, communications center, police cars and cycles.
They (the officers) will meet with the community throughout the evening, with the hope of better law enforcement-community relations, and they will have public safety displays. There will be around 350 blue light bulbs to be passed out to households to show support of law enforcement, as well as some bracelets.
A classic car, truck and motorcycle show will also be held during that time. Dash plaques will be given to those who display a car, truck or cycle and to each officer in the county.
Ontario Mayor Randy Hutchinson will be on hand with opening remarks at 4:30 p.m., Couch Page will follow with remarks about what these officers mean to the county.
The K-9 unit will perform later in the evening.
