Frederick L. Beck, 86, of Mansfield, passed peacefully from this life into his eternal life with his Lord on Saturday afternoon, Aug. 13, 2016 surrounded by his loving family at Brethren Care Center, Ashland.
Mr. Beck was born Feb. 13, 1930 near Lucas and was the son of the late Charles Albert and Rosa (McCarty) Beck.
He was a 1948 graduate of Loudonville High School and had moved to Mansfield in 1966 where he was a 30-year retired head custodian at Eastview Elementary School of the Madison Local School System. He had previously worked as a milk man for Winter’s Guernsey Dairy of Loudonville as well as Borden’s Dairy. Mr. Beck was a member of Mayflower Congregational Church serving as a trustee.
He enjoyed woodworking, playing cards, and visiting with family and friends.
He is survived by the love of his life, Leola M. (Stewart) Beck, whom he married Oct. 21, 1951; three daughters: Cindy Miller of Mansfield, Celia (Tim) Elliott of Macedonia, and Connie (Ed) Picklesimer of Marysville; one son: Bruce (Karen) Beck of France; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one brother: Charles Robert (Phyllis) Beck of Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother: Eugene Beck, and one sister: Evelyn Ramey.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, Aug. 27 at 11 a.m. in Mayflower Congregational Church, with Rev. Gary Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Loudonville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Mayflower Congregational Church, 548 N. McElroy Rd., Mansfield, OH 44905.
