MANSFIELD: Lois Gertrude Poland, 99, of Mansfield passed away Saturday, July 23, 2016 in Winchester Terrace Nursing Home.

The daughter of Charles and Cynthia (Hedding) Smith, Lois was born July 6, 1917. She graduated from Springfield High School, now Ontario High School, in 1934. Two years later she married Edro J. Poland on December 23, 1936.

She is survived by her children William (Gail) Poland of Hartland, Michigan and Sharon Adams of Mansfield; grandchildren Linda (Bob) Sperling, Donna (Terry) Gilmore, Paula Kovinchick, and Art (Crystal) Belbot Jr.; six great grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edro J. Poland, brothers Hoy, Clarence, Dale, and Leroy Smith; sister Cynthia Armstrong as well as an infant brother.

Her family will receive friends Tuesday, July 26, 2016 from 2-3 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. Pastor Jim Berry will officiate and burial will follow in Bryn Zion Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Hospice of North Central Ohio may be made at the funeral home.
