Joy E. Mack

Joy E. Mack, 80, passed this life on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family after a brief illness.

Mrs. Mack was born on Wednesday, July 24, 1935 to the late Calvin and Rosie (Eatmon) Bounds in Millport, Alabama and had lived in Mansfield the past 56 years. Joy was employed for many years at the Creamer’s Restaurant, and was a member of the Providence Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board.

Joy is survived by her husband Nathaniel Mack Sr.; five children: Mary (Gregory) Simmons, of Tucker, Georgia, Elgean Woods, of Smyrna, Georgia, Leroy Guyton and Rose Bounds, of Mansfield, and Billy Bounds, of Marion; step-daughter: Darlene Allen, of Andalusia, Alabama; nine grandchildren: DeForest Roche and Rennelle Brown, Jermaine, Tajie, Joy, and Shante Bounds, Mary Francis Ward, Darrell “Tookie” Smith, and Tasha Allen; 33 great grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents Joy was also preceded in death by siblings, Fostine and Huston Bounds. 

Funeral services will be held Monday, at 11 a.m. in the Providence Baptist Church by her pastor Rev. Dr. Thomas Hunt. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will be in Mansfield Cemetery.

The family will also receive friends at her home from 3 to 7 p.m. daily until day of service.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association, 471 E. Broad St. #1630 Columbus; 43215 or the Alzheimers Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter, 780 Park Ave. West, Mansfield; 44906.
