Bobby Gene Music, 78, of Mansfield, died unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 doing what he loved working on vehicles.
Bobby was born in Prestonsburg, KY on November 9, 1937 to the late Estill and Amanda M. (Shepherd) Music. He married Helen J. Wright on November 30, 1957 and she preceded him in death on July 28, 2003. On May 19, 2007, Bobby married B. Jean Boggs and she survives him.
Bobby was the previous owner of Music Farm Market and Crest Auto Sales. He was a welder by trade and employed by General Motors until his retirement in 1992. Bobby was an avid auction attendee. He enjoyed restoring antique cars and attending car shows. Bobby met with his friends at McDonald’s every morning and at Wendy’s in the evening. Bobby was very proud of his family. Anyone Bobby met knew him as a most generous, kind and good hearted man.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his five children; Pamela Miller, Crestline, Lola (Jim) Scurlock, Gahanna, Steve Heiby, Crestline, Amanda (Don) Alvoid, North Lewisburg, Melodie (Kurt) Vogt, Crestline, nineteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, step-children Scott (Jodie) Boggs and Melody Boggs Phillips and (Jim Joice), his two brothers, Billy H.(Sue) Music, Ontario, Denver Music, Lexington, KY, his two sisters, Minnie Alice (James Riley) Hall, Allen, KY, and Lyda Fay Crum, Allen KY.
In addition to his wife Helen, he was preceded in death by his son Estill Music, his son-in-law, David R. Miller, his two brothers, T. Leo Music, Ronald G. Music, his sister, Mary Ellen Layne and his twin sister, Betty Jo Music.
Friends may call on from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 25, 2016 at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, 223 West Main St., Crestline. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Crestline.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation or the Crestline Athletic Boosters where all of his children and many of his grandchildren were involved in various activities. Contributions may be made in care of the funeral home.
