Kathy Lynn Burgess, 61, of Westerville died unexpectedly Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at her home. She was born Nov. 11, 1954 in Wooster and was the daughter of the late J. R. and Joan (Hoag) Lemon. Kathy was a 1972 graduate of Loudonville High School and later graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She taught at Perrysville Elementary School and in Reynoldsburg before her retirement from teaching. Kathy worked ten years as a book editor for McGraw-Hill Publishing in Columbus and most recently was a travel consultant for AAA Travel Columbus. She was a member of the Loudonville United Methodist Church and the OSU Alumni Assoc. Kathy loved traveling and her favorite destinations were Egypt and Hilton Head, SC.
Kathy is survived by her sister, Patty Lemon of Loudonville, and many close and special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.R. and Jo Lemon.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 25 at 11:30 a.m. in Lindsey Funeral Home, Loudonville, with Dr. Wende Lance, officiating. Friends may call Monday from 10 to 11:30 in the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow the funeral in Loudonville Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to continue celebrating her life in the fellowship hall of Loudonville United Methodist Church following her burial.
