GALION — Galion’s Bean couple just got busier.

Rob and Susan Bean opened Galion’s newest printing shop, Impression Press, June 1 and held a ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday to officially kick off the venture.

“This is his profession,” Susan said of her husband, Rob, who has been in the printing and shipping industry for 26 years.

Rob owned The Copy Shop when the couple lived in Pensacola, Florida, for 11 years. He then sold the company and worked for FedEx.

The move to Galion prompted the business decision.

“Galion had nothing like it so it was meant to be,” Susan said.

Impression Press designs and prints anything and everything from wedding invitations to business cards and from business banners to flyers. The printing shop also features a shipping option as an authorized FedEx shipping center.

“We do everything,” she said of the shop.

But she could have been talking about her and Rob, too — they wear many hats.

Susan is also a city council member for the city’s fourth ward. Rob attends every meeting — he owns and operates Livestream Galion, a source for streaming coverage of city council meetings and other city happenings.

Susan also works as a licensed insurance agent for Hamilton Insurance Group Inc. in Mansfield.

“Yeah, it’s going to be crazy for a little while,” Susan admitted.

Rob added that they will not hire new employees until business picks up.

“But we’ve had people in every day,” Susan responded.

The Impression Press’ building sat empty for two years prior to the Beans’ ownership. Before that, the building was Cannons Music. And before the music shop, it was Lawson’s. It sits across the street from Green Thumb Hydroponic and Garden Center, adjacent to Dollar General.

Impression Press will be open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. It will close on Sundays.
