Andrew Lee Franklin Jr.

Andrew Lee Franklin, Jr., 48, passed this life Tuesday, May 18, 2016 at his home after a sudden illness.

Mr. Franklin, was born on Sunday, February 4, 1968 to Andrew Lee and Annie Bell (Williams) Franklin, Sr. in Brewton, Alabama coming to Mansfield as a toddler. Andrew was a member of the Mansfield Senior High School graduating class of 1986. He was a member of the New Beginnings Full Gospel Baptist Church until moving to Columbus 3 years ago uniting with the New Salem Baptist Church.

Andrew was employed with Columbus Casting for the past 18 months. While living in Mansfield, Andrew coached PAL basketball for a number of years, and he always enjoyed rubbing on his car a trait he inherited from his dad.

Andrew is survived by his daughter: Jasmine (Daniel) Lloyd; mother: Annie B. Franklin; 3 sisters: Loretha Cross, Pamaliz (Dennis) Minard, and Patricia Franklin; 2 step grandchildren; and special companion: Easter O’Neal and her children, all of Mansfield.

Andrew was preceded in death by his father Andrew, Sr.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m. in the Shiloh Baptist Church with Bishop William Morris, Jr. officiating and Rev. Keith Troy of Columbus delivering the eulogy. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will be in Mansfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends daily at the home of Andrew’s sister, Pamaliz, 604 Grant St., 4-8 p.m. till the day of the service.
