MANSFIELD — Last year’s Celebration of Education drew a large turnout in the Senior High commons.

The third annual Celebration of Education, sponsored by the Mansfield School Employees Association, is also expected to draw a huge crowd to Mansfield Senior High on May 3.

“Plans are coming together. We will have a lot to share with the public,” said Amy Bradley, a first-grade teacher at Sherman Elementary, who is heading the planning committee.

The program from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in the Senior High commons will include free hot dogs, potato chips and punch prepared by the culinary arts department.

Each school will have a table display and a 15-minute presentation of songs or readings. A rotating slide show will highlight district events and activities. Each young student present will receive a free book.

“It’s going to be a fun evening for everyone. We are eager to share all of the positive learning that is happening in Mansfield City Schools,” Bradley said. “We had a huge turnout in 2014 and 2015. We expect another large crowd on May 3.”

Jones Potato Chips will donate the chips, while Rightway Food will provide the hotdogs.

Bradley said the planning committee has worked hard to plan the event. The group includes: Linda Golden, Senior High; Jen Lepard, middle school; Cindy Colvin, Woodland; Monica Hoovler, Prospect; Wendy Carmichael, Jamie Zellner, Tonya Kral and Maggie Voedisch, Sherman; Carmen Egner, Hedges; Janine Boocks, Malabar; Maria Jimeno, Spanish Immersion, and Fayette Adams, technology.
