Our Inspiration
By The Ohio Adrenaline Elite Staff
Growing up we all had different dreams, some of us wanted to be firefighters, astronauts, professional athletes, etc..
For the three owners of Ohio Adrenaline Elite we never imagined that we would own a competitive cheerleading business in our 20’s. Our business has had its ups and downs but our athletes have become our lives and we couldn’t imagine it any other way.
Two months ago on Feb. 12, our lives changed forever. Trevor Tinch one of the coaches at Ohio Adrenaline Elite was diagnosed with Stage II Multicellular Hodgkins Lymphoma.
This was a day that we never saw coming, Anthony Del Monte said it best “Cancer does not have a face until it’s yours or someone you know.”
Being diagnosed with cancer at the age of 24 was never in Trevor’s life plan, for some it would be pure devastation but not for Trevor.
He has a beautiful outlook on life, and sees this illness as another obstacle that he gets to overcome. Trevor has become such an inspiration for our athletes and parents. He not only continues to work a full time job but he also continues to coach and head our financial department throughout his treatment.
One day, in a conversation with him about how his treatment was going, he was asked “On the days that you feel so weak, what gives you the strength to get out of bed?”
His response brought tears.
“There are days that I do feel like I am too weak to get out of bed, but then I think about all of the athletes at the gym that are rooting for me and how I would never want to let them down, and it gives me more than enough strength.”
If we had one wish it would be to give Trevor recognition for his selflessness. He could have easily used this illness as a way to pull back from his duties at the gym but instead he lets our athletes, parents, and other coaches empower him through his battle.
He is truly an inspiration and we are so proud to be by his side through this whole process, it takes a deeply strong individual to come to the gym and continue to help build our athletes physically, mentally, and emotionally when you are facing such a hard battle of your own.
Ohio Adrenaline Elite is a proud #TeamTrevor supporter and we will continue to give him immense love and support through his fight!
