MANSFIELD — The local 2-year-old who was life-flighted to Columbus for severe head injuries on Tuesday died earlier today, according to Richland County prosecutor Bambi Couch Page.
The Richland County Sheriff’s Office issued a press release Wednesday announcing its investigation into the situation.
The toddler, Marlie Milner, was taken to OhioHealth by a family member on Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.
“Doctors determined she had a subdural brain bleed and arranged for her to be life-flighted to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus,” Sheldon said in a press release. “Doctors performed emergency surgery on the child.
“The case is being investigated by detectives.”
Couch Page said the sheriff’s office is actively pursuing leads and that anyone who has information regarding the case should call the sheriff’s major crimes unit at 419-774-5610 or dispatch at 419-524-2412.
