ONTARIO — A new urgent care facility is now open in Ontario.

City officials celebrated the opening of Walk In Urgent Care, located at 375 N. Lexington-Springmill Rd., with a ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday.

Ontario Mayor Randy Hutchinson was pleased to see the facility set up shop in a vacant building, which was once home to a White Castle restaurant.

“It’s always nice to have an old building repurposed and in use again,” Hutchinson said.

The facility is privately owned by Dr. Mazhar Hussain, who owns 15 other urgent care centers in Ohio, including the one located on Trimble Road in Mansfield.

Hussain believes the opening of another facility in Richland County will serve as a convenience to local residents, especially those with busy work schedules. It’s open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Brittany Dorsey, chief operating officer, said the facility can treat any non-life-threatening emergency.

“We see a lot of common cold, flu, general illnesses — anything that’s not a chronic illness,” she said.

The center also provides X-ray services and occupational health services, such as drug screens, physicals and work permits.

The building has four patient rooms.

“Right now since we just opened, we’re staffed with one provider, which can be a physician, a nurse practitioner or a physician assistant,” Dorsey said. “And then we’ll have one medical assistant.”
