Charles A. Dorka Jr., 64, of Mansfield, Ohio passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at his home.

He was born to Charles A. Dorka, Sr., and Emma Jeanne Dorka on Oct. 16, 1951 in Akron, Ohio.

Chuk was a dedicated and gifted teacher in many schools throughout his career. He retired from Mansfield City Schools with over 30 years of service. While teaching, he became a National Board Certified Teacher and was a member of Mensa. Chuk was passionate about his students and both challenged and inspired them to succeed.

In retirement, he enjoyed cooking, home improvement projects, reading, and writing but was most enthusiastic about connecting with other people. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, and engaging in meaningful discussions about politics, education, and the Bible. He was always willing to serve others in any capacity and share the word of God.

Chuk is survived by his mother, Jeanne Dorka, of Akron, Ohio; his daughters, Abigail Jo (Jeff) Eldridge, of Shelby, Ohio, and Amy Jo (Jason) Lehotsky, of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Zachary Tyler Eldridge, Jacob Roger Eldridge, Avery Jae Lehotsky, and Joseph Reed Lehotsky; his brother, John E. (Patricia) Dorka, of Massillon, Ohio; his sister, Julianne (Jay) Stroup, of Stow, Ohio; nieces and nephews, Kelli Jo (Benjamin) Eberly, Christopher Sean (Lindsay) Dorka, and Joshua Emmerson (Nicole) Stroup; great niece, Olivia Stroup; and many dear friends.

Charles was preceded in death by his father, and his wife, Rebecca Ann Dorka.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2016 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd., Ontario, Ohio. A private graveside services will be held at Mansfield Memorial Park at a later date. In lieu of flowers charitable donations can be made in Chuk’s honor to Crossroads Community Church Student Ministry Missions.
