MANSFIELD — Modern Woodmen of America members in Mansfield/Ontario are doing their part to help the community. The group will co-sponsor a fundraiser on Friday, March 18 from 5 to 7 p.m. to benefit the Harmony House.
The fundraiser, which will take place at Ontario United Methodist Church (3540 Park Ave. West, Ontario), will include: soup, supper, a silent auction and bake sale. A donation of $5 for the dinner is suggested.
Up to $2,500 of the money raised will be matched by Modern Woodmen through Modern Woodmen’s Matching Fund Program. The funds will be used to purchase bunk beds, shelving for the play room, etc.
The Matching Fund Program offers Modem Woodmen members nationwide the chance to show their support for a community cause, organization or individual in need through fundraisers. These fundraising projects contribute more than $10 million to community needs across the country each year.
“With this project, every dollar truly counts,” said Greg Boyce, local Modern Woodmen Financial Representative. “It’s exciting to be involved in a project that is so important to our community.”
Coordinated by local Modern Woodmen members, the fraternal financial services organization, summit chapters, and youth service clubs provide opportunities for members to take part in social and educational activities and volunteer projects to meet local needs.

As a tax-exempt fraternal benefit society, Modern Woodmen sells life insurance, annuity and investment products not to benefit stockholders but to improve the quality of life for its members, their families and their communities. This is accomplished through social, charitable and volunteer activities.
Annually, Modern Woodmen and its members provide nearly $20 million and over 400,000 volunteer hours for community projects nationwide.
