MANSFIELD — The Mansfield Area Y celebrated its 9th annual Daddy Daughter Dance last Saturday with 180 dads and daughters.
It was a record turnout that started with a nice meal and soon the DJ had everyone on the dance floor. Whether it was “Let It Go” or the Chicken Dance, the duos had a chance to show off their dance moves. The dance floor was full the entire night and when “Watch Me” came on, nearly every little girl was doing the Whip and Nae Nae.
There was also a limbo for both the little girls and the fathers, a far less successful proposition for the gentlemen. There were also some slow dances that many little girls will no doubt remember for years.
“That really made the night a special evening, as every little girl’s face lit up dancing with their daddy,” said the YMCA’s Cody Reeder. “The entire night was such a blast, but the best part was seeing all the smiles across everyone’s faces.
“We’re happy to been part of such a great night and we look forward to seeing everyone come back next year. Hopefully, we will see some new faces too.”
