Patricia A. Moneysmith, 64, died Friday morning, Jan. 29, 2016 at her home in Galion after a lengthy illness.

Pat was born in Cleveland on Oct. 5, 1951 to the late John W. Ransom and Marilyn (Kline) Plummer, of Galion. She married Brian J. Moneysmith, on Oct. 29, 1999 and he survives.

Pat worked at United Church Directories for over 25 years. She was also employed at Hottenroth, Garverick, Tilson and Garverick as a receptionist until her retirement in 2013. Pat was a member of the Elks Lodge #1191, Galion and the Women of the Moose, Lodge # 303.

Pat was a graduate of Galion High School. She enjoyed fishing, going to the beach and lived in Myrtle Beach for a time.

She is survived by her husband; Brian J. Moneysmith, of Galion, her mother and step-father; Marolyn and Fred Plummer, of Galion, sister; Sue and Jerry Waters, of Galion, brother; Charles and Ida Mae Ransom, of Burlington, Wisconsin, two nieces; Michele and Kurt Hasten, of Lexington, Gretchen and Joe Barth, of Ostrander, two great nieces; Kailee and Emma Hasten, step-son; Clint and Carrie Moneysmith, of Galion, step-daughter; Stacey and Larry Utt, of Fairborn and two step-grandchildren; Zachary and Camille Moneysmith.

She was preceded in death by her father; John Ransom, sister; Linda Crase, nephew; Michael Paul Crase and her father and mother-in-law; Jim and Dorothy “Dot” Moneysmith.

Friends may call Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Galion. There will be a service at 7 p.m. held by the Women of the Moose.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice in care of the funeral home.
