Marilyn A. Laubacher

Marilyn A. Laubacher, 83, of Delaware, Ohio, formerly of Mansfield, passed away Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016 at Willow Brook Christian Village in Delaware, Ohio, following an eight-year battle with Alzheimer’s.

Born May 4, 1932 in Canton, Ohio, she was the daughter of Herman and Anna (Kress) Wilhelm.

She was a graduate of Central Catholic High School in Canton, and worked as a telephone operator. She then became a homemaker, raising her family. Marilyn was a lifelong member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. She spent her free time volunteering for MedCentral Mansfield Hospital and St. Peter’s lunch cafeteria. After her children were grown, she worked at Key Bank as a teller in Ontario, from where she retired. 

She is survived by her sons, Terry (Kim) Laubacher of Delaware, Ohio, and Ray Laubacher of Columbus, Ohio; three grandchildren, Rachel (Jeff) Corgey, of Texas, Lauren Laubacher (fiancée, Danny), of Delaware, Ohio and Lindsey Laubacher, of Columbus, Ohio; two great grandchildren, Adisyn and Hadley Corgey, of Texas; a sister, Gertrude Curran, of Canton, Ohio; four sisters-in-law, Sister Jean Laubacher of Michigan, Sister Mary Laubacher of Michigan, Dorothy Laubacher of Canton, Ohio and Joan Leforge of Texas; a brother-in-law, Edward Laubacher, of Dayton, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Laubacher; and two brothers, Howard Wilhelm and Raymond Wilhelm.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1, 2016 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd., Ontario. A Mass of Christian Burial will be recited by Father Gregory Hite at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mansfield Catholic Cemetery.
