William Harold “Bill” Clark, of Butler, passed away Monday evening, Jan. 25, 2016 at his home. He was 58.
He was born Dec. 19, 1957 in Paw Paw, Michigan to parents Donald and Patricia (O’Grady) Clark. He graduated from Mattawan Consolidated Schools in Michigan before going on to college.
Bill worked for General Motors at the Kalamazoo and Mansfield plants for 32 years in WEMR skill trades before retiring in 2008.
Bill was as comfortable in the water as on the land. He was a skilled scuba diver and even a scuba instructor for many years in Kalamazoo. No fish was safe when Bill was on the water. He enjoyed bass tournaments and any opportunity to be in the outdoors. Fishing was such a passion of his, not even the cold would stop him as he enjoyed ice fishing adventures, too.
A favorite destination for camping and fishing trips was northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula. A skilled woodworker, he also enjoyed his model trains as well as finishing a crossword puzzle.
He is survived by his wife Kathi Clark; children Rob (Rene) Clark and Nikki (Charlie) Timberlake; grandchildren Roland, Kylee, Mali and Bentley; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a brother Tom Clark.
His family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016 in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home, 81 Mill Rd. Bellville. Bill’s family will again invite friends to call on Monday, Feb. 1, 2016 from noon to 2 p.m. in Adams Funeral Home, 502 N. Michigan Ave., Paw Paw, Michigan, immediately followed by a graveside service in Maple Grove Cemetery in Mattawan, Michigan.
Contributions in his memory can be made to the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District and may be made at the funeral home.
The Bellville Snyder Funeral Homes is honored to serve Bill’s family with local arrangements and encourage you to share a fond memory or message of condolence to them – or to watch his tribute video – at SnyderFuneralHomes.com.
