MANSFIELD, Ohio — Students from the Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA! Richland) were introduced to Eric Parr, Parr Insurance Agency, Inc., who spoke to the class about the importance of insurance and risk management when starting a small business.
Students listened as he explored the formal process of how an organization establishes its risk management goals and objectives, as well as how to identify and analyze risk and liability. The students were also taught that in order to avoid health and legal liability, risk management procedures need to be put in place before starting any new enterprise or social movement.
Throughout the lesson, the students realized that small businesses can benefit from the insurance industry in many ways.
As part of the YEA! program, students are introduced to all facets of the business world including, but not limited to, advertising, attorneys, graphic designers and web developers.
